When?
This session takes place every Wednesday afternoon
from 3:30 - 5.45 p.m.
Who?
A selected group of young people who attend Queen Elizabeth Mercian
School
are regularly involved and attend the session on a voluntary basis
Aims of the session
Through a variety of creative, artistic and hands on activities and
projects, the young people are encouraged
to learn new or develop current life skills. The activites are structured
to create opportunity for both group
and individual challenges, and for the young people to evaluate their
progress to
contribute towards future project planning to address their needs
and desires.
The sessions aims to reward young
people with accreditation for their participation.
Current group members are working towards the Passport to Success.

Participants have been involved in many exciting projects.
These included:
The Christmas Tree Project - Successful installation
of trees in Charity Shops and one in the St. Edithas Church Competition.
Young people acheived greater awareness of the roles of charities and
the opportunities for volunteering locally.
Pride Panel - Contributed to by all young people, who gained awareness
of what the SYPS
( Staffordshire Young People's Service) means to young people by creationg
a successful artwork for permanent display.
Cookery - Young people involved in general cookery
and Christmas cookery.
Pizza -making workshops received good feedback as young people learned
life skills.
Sports - The wide variety of sports offered ensured active participation
of allyoung people on a weekly basis, enhancing physical fitness and
developing scial skills
between old and new members of the group
